Maria Trevino, Promotora

With a brilliant smile and a compassionate demeanor, Maria Treviño, “Cleo” to those who know her best, is fulfilling her childhood dream of helping people in need.

Smith Pierre, Promotor

While living in a camp, Smith served as a translator and leader for the farmworkers working in the wreath industry.  His helping nature made him an asset to the Camp Health Aide Program.

Ana Villareal, Promotora

After being a Promotora de Salud for more than 25 years and one of the first to receive certification in Texas, Ana Villareal knows the field well.  That she still feels committed and touched by the lives she encounters is a testament to her helping spirit.

Marisol Luevano, Promotora

Marisol Luevano is a strong advocate for health, both in her migrant labor camp in Michigan and in her home community in South Texas.

Sandra Alvarado, Promotora

With her caring support, Sandra Alvarado assists her fellow farmworkers with stress, depression or alcohol problems by offering peer education and access to services.

Enedelia Cisneros, Promotora

Arizona Clegg, Promotor

Arizona Clegg is skilled and enthusiastic. He excels in the role of Promotor, actively helping farmworkers face challenges and lead healthier, more productive lives.

 

Migrant Health Promotion and collaborators support over 175 Promotores(as) annually. While Migrant Health Promotion cannot feature all of them here, the organization applauds their efforts to change their communities for the better.
