Promotores and Promotoras offer information and support to community members of their own socioeconomic background, language and culture. By doing so, they put forth the winning strategy at the heart of Migrant Health Promotion's programs and vision. All of our programs apply the Promotor(a) concept to isolated farmworker labor camps and rural areas, including border communities. Farmworkers and community members participate in health training and share what they have learned with their families and peers. The results are powerful. Trained Promotores(as) bring information, resources, confidence and improved access to services to their communities.
