Thank you for your interest in donating items for farmworkers and border communities! While Migrant Health Promotion appreciates all gestures of generosity, limited space requires that we collect only the highest priority items. Please note that the gifts listed below are in order of need. Additionally, multiple copies of the same thing, rather than one of each, allows us to give to as many people as possible in a camp or colonia.
New and used donations are accepted at any time, but please put your donations in a box and label it. The label should describe the contents, quantity and condition of the items (new or used). This helps out tremendously by saving us time sorting and labeling!

Clothes (new or clean)
- Long-sleeved cotton shirts for men and women - for working outside in the fields
- Rain suits (rain jacket and rain pants) - for picking pickles in the rain
- Baseball caps, in different sizes and colors, for men and women - for sun and pesticide protection
- Gloves: yellow dishwashing gloves, work gloves or latex medical gloves - to avoid cuts and rashes
- Large bandannas - to drape on neck to cover from the sun
- Maternity clothes
- Baby layettes (baby clothes and blankets)
- Flip-flop sandals of all sizes - to wear in the shower and around the camp
Personal Hygiene/Medical (new only)
- Bars of soap or liquid soap
- Skin lotion
- Mosquito repellent
- Sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher)
- Hygiene kits (Ziploc bag with toothbrush, shampoo, soap, washcloth and deodorant)
- First aid supplies or small kits:
- Band-aids (preferably cloth, for working in fields)
- Antibacterial ointment
- Antiseptic wipes
- Hydrocortisone cream (for bee stings, because bee boxes are located in the fields)
- Cloth tape
- Eye wash
- Tubes or packets of diaper rash cream
- Toenail clippers
Home Furnishings (new or clean)
- Electric fans - the square kind
- Cooking pots and pans
- Blankets and sheets (single and double sizes)
- Towels
- Pillows
- Fly swatters
Sports and Recreation (new or clean)
- Soccer balls
- Volleyball net(s) and ball(s)

- Phone cards - for calling home and family members in Texas, Florida, etc.
